Slowly push the throttle so that you begin to move forward. It is recommended that you stay at around 5-10mph until you are further away from the shore.
Jet Ski batteries like any lead-acid battery will deteriorate if you don't use them for months. This can occur during the colder months when the Jet Ski isn't ridden. To solve this problem you should keep the battery trickle charging on a smart charger or a solar charger. You may need a new battery every year.
It is important to maintain your Jet Ski correctly such as winterising your Jet Ski to store it during the winter months when not used. Jet Skis can suck up rope, sticks and rocks. Jet Ski Batteries do not last forever and need to be maintained over winter. Sometimes parts need replacing on a Jet Ski such as spark plugs or parts need replacing because they are deteriorating due to corrosion.
If you have a supercharged Jet Ski, then you will need to run premium petrol. If you don’t have a supercharged Jet Ski run regular fuel. Make sure you are seated comfortably with your hands on the handlebars and feet securely in the footrests of the jet ski then use the key attached to your lanyard to turn on the ignition of the jet ski at the switch.
You may need the following tools to maintain your Jet Ski: 3/8 Drive socket set, wrench, screwdriver, torch, long metal rod, tow rope and shackle, jump starter, anchor and rope, water and spare life jacket, fire extinguisher.
Once you are experienced and feel comfortable riding a jet ski, you can begin jumping wakes. Learning the basics of jumping wakes is among the best parts when it comes to riding a jet ski. Remember you should take things slow. Don’t go too fast to jump a wake because if you do, the jet ski will push through the wave and not jump it. Jumping wakes correctly takes time and a lot of practice.
